How to Choose the Perfect Storage Barn in Pennsylvania: Chambersburg & Carlisle Buyers Guide
Posted by Esh's Sheds

Shopping for a new storage barn can be an overwhelming experience. Here is Pennsylvania, especially in the Chambersburg or Carlisle areas, there are many storage barn manufacturers who offer different sizes and features. Below we will provide with a few things to consider when purchasing a new storage barn.
SIZE AND STORAGE CAPACITY
For starters, what size of building are you looking for? Do you need a small storage barn that needs to fit a few small items like a push mower and a few garden tools? Or do you need a storage shed that can fit a large tractor and items like an ATV, hunting gear or gardening equipment? We can custom build any size storage barn needed but knowing the size you need will help us know what size building to show you.
BUILDING MATERIAL & DURABILITY
Many people come to our storage barn lot looking for a beautiful wooden storage barn. Many people love the look of a board and batten barn and we sell lots of these but there are other things to consider when deciding what type of storage shed to buy. A wooden storage barn looks great but requires regular maintenance. If you are OK with regular maintenance, maybe a wooden building is for you. If you don’t want to have to regularly maintain a building, a vinyl or metal barn may be a better option because they offer low maintenance.
FOUNDATION & FLOORING OPTIONS
Many customers don’t think about what type of floor they need in their storage barn until we bring it up but it is probably one of the most important things to consider when purchasing a new shed. Some of the more popular options include a gravel floor, a concrete floor, or a pressure- treated wood floor. Customers on a budget may also consider a wooden floor that is not treated. For customers who are considering putting heavy equipment such as a tractor, riding lawnmower or even a vehicle of some kind in their storage barn, a concrete pad or gravel floor is a great option. It is best to talk to one of our salesmen at the Chambersburg or Carlisle lot about this before we build your storage barn.
DOORS, WINDOWS & ACCESSIBILITY
We often have dozens of storage barns on our lots in Chambersburg and Carlisle that you can choose from or you can have us custom build a building for you. Many of our customers choose to have their shed custom built because they can choose the color they want as well as the type of door and windows they want. For example, some people want an actual garage door on their building that rolls up and down. Others want an entry door that matches the door on their home. Some people want lots of windows in their building so it can double as a greenhouse during the growing season. Here at Esh’s, we always say if you can dream it, we can build it.
Going through the process of purchasing a new storage barn can be fun and exciting. Stop by either of our sales lots and let us put our 40 plus years of experience to work for you. We can help you select the perfect building for your needs.
